Pumpkin patch

We had a very interesting time at the pumpkin patch! When we first got there we decided to take a ride on the train! You can see that it was pulled by a tractor and then we each had our own car following. Cason, Granpa, and Tage were in the 1st car, Savanna and Bart in the 2nd, Me in the 3rd, GG in the 4th, Boston and Ivy in the 5th, Jess in the 6th, Bridger and Paul in the 7th, and in the caboose Lili and Chris. As you can see from the pics we had quite a ride. He took us out on the road and drove us in circles and back and forth like a snake. It was a crazy ride from the 3rd car where I was but as it went further back it was really whipping them back and forth. Just as we were about finished with the ride Chris and Lili in the last car got thrown from the car as it whipped around a corner and threw them from the car. The driver quickly saw what happened and stopped and we ran over to see if they were ok. Poor Lili was screaming, but was ok. Chris was a different story his left arm from his elbow to shoulder was completely skinned and his left knee and thigh we really scraped up. By his knee it was almost skinned down to the bone. They ended up taking Chris to the ER to make sure he didn't break his knee, and it turns out he didn't, but they couldn't stitch him up cause there was not enough skin left to stitch they just wrapped it up really good and it will have to heal on its own. He was amazingly tough through the whole thing, and what a blessing he was because he knew how to duck and cover and was strong enough to hold Lili so all she ended up with was a small bonk on the head and a little scrape on her foot! I think he probably was the only one that has been trained to do what he did and the only one strong enough to hold a child while doing it! It could have been much worse, and we are so sorry he got hurt but so thankful that Lili was ok!!

After that while Chris, Jess, Lili, Steve, and Paul were in the ER still we decided to let the other kids pick out some pumpkins- as you can see we got quite a few! oh and just to make things more interesting I locked both sets of our truck keys in the truck and had to call my parents and Jack Hansen to come break into the truck so we could leave the pumpkin patch!
Oh well at least the kids were having fun right!!!
