Bridgers Broken Leg!

If you have read my previous blogs Bridger is quite the little goer. and On Friday he was climbing up the ladder to his play house and was trying to carry a car up at the same time and he fell. He was pretty sad, but what worried me was the fact that he would not put any weight on his right leg. He went down for a nap, but when he woke up he was still really sad, so I decided to take him to the instacare. After a few x-rays they determined that he had broken both the bones in his right ankle. A greenstick/buckle fracture of his tibia and Fibula bones! He has been so tough through the whole process, he is just more mad then anything because now he cant walk. He tries to stand on it but cant and is mad that he is back to crawling. He only has the splint, but it was Friday at 5:00 so all the ortho doctors were off for the weekend so we are getting a consult with an ortho this week to see what we do from here, and how long he will have to stay off of it. If its going to be a long time then we will have to get a hard cast put on because he has allready tried several times to get the ace wrap and splint off. Anyway we love this little guy so much and I think he must just have rotten luck because he has allready spent way too much time in casts so it just isnt fair that he has to do it again, but of well. We just hope and pray it heals up right!

He wasn't able to have a real bath until he was about 3 months old because of his casts and now we are back to bathing with a cast. This time I tried the whole leg in a bag, and it didn't work real great, but how do you keep a 15 month old clean? So I think we will have to try better tape next time. As you can see he was really mad that I was tapping a plastic bag over his leg, but once he was in the tub he forgot all about it. If anyway has any great ideas about how to keep his casts dry for baths I would love to hear it!
